Brittany + Lane

Eye Wander Photo

Living in a small town in Louisiana, the future Mr. Lane & Mrs. Brittany Comeaux crossed paths many times, without knowing they would be?celebrating their union with family and friends on the sandy, white beaches of Mexico. Fast forward to the future, the Bride was?pursuing her career in Las Vegas when during a holiday back home in Louisiana, she was introduced to her future husband. ?Even?though sparks flew instantly, the two kept a safe distance aware of long distance relationship challenges. Then when?Brittany's job took her back to Louisiana, the couple reconnected and the rest was history.

The couple wanted to have a destination wedding for all of their friends and family to enjoy, and chose Mexico due to the close proximity to their home in the south. Brittany’s passion for interior design, led her to the modern architectural backdrop of a hotel in Playa Mujeres, located on a secluded beach resort, twenty miles north of Cancun.

The Bride chose her theme, beginning with the accent color of fuchsia and combined agates and orchids, her favorite trademarks. To keep the theme, light and airy, with a touch of elegance, she chose tropical broad palms, crystal chandeliers and fairytale lights complemented by gold accents. Their reception was held in a modern, stone gazebo overlooking the sea with an impressive aisle of fuchsia, blush and white rose petals. The reception was held a few steps away, in the Grand Palapa, hosting an open air site with a massive thatched roof adorned with romantic, white chiffon fabrics and white fairytale lights.

Special touches for the wedding day was customized invitations and stationary made by a friend

of the Bride in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Bride chose a stunning geode cake made with local Mexican vanilla and cake crystals made from sugar with gold accents. They customized their table names from vacations and special places the couple visited and tropical broad palms enhanced the area, while swaying in the gentle sea breezes.

The Bride’s wedding dress was Eddy K with customized touches remade by the Bride. She also wanted the Bridesmaids to feel comfortable in their dress so they chose tones of off-white, gold and champagne. They had a “27 dress on marathon” to find the perfect combo which dazzled the guests on their wedding day. For the men’s attire and keeping the hot, humid weather in mind, they chose a light weight linen with matching patterned fuchsia socks, belts and shoes.

Owning her own business in interior design, the Bride wanted to assure her destination wedding was perfect and wanted to enjoy her time away from work to enjoy their friends and family. She advises future brides to choose a professional wedding planner. A close friend of the Bride had a wedding in Mexico, so she was referred to her planner and booked her immediately. She commented if she did not have a professional wedding planner her wedding would have turned our differently due to multiple challenges in working with a large hotel resort. Overall, “our wedding was a perfect representation of us, and it was definitely reflected in the details throughout the day. We ate the cake, danced as if no one was watching, and fell in love all over again.”?
