Her Pilot, Her Love - 1940's Aviation

How romantic is it to have your love also be a pilot who can whisk you away to an exotic, romantic destination for your honeymoon or for any reason at all!
The center of this elopement is one of my best friend's grandfather's yellow 1940's Piper Cub plane. There are several pilots in the Harrelson family and they have a history of long marriages. What a combined inspiration for a beautiful elopement!
The color pallet was chosen around the color of the airplane; pastel yellow, blue and pink. Of course a tea length gown true to the era was in order as well as a period dress for the bridesmaid and suspenders for the groom and best man. Hair and make up true to the '40's was a must, of course!
Many elements had been put into place by the time we brought the planner, Magnolia Affairs, on board but she up scaled the elopement with her amazing tablescapes and additional details. As luck would have it, her husband is also a pilot. Our florist really enhanced the elopement by integrating family heirlooms into the shoot (travel case, hat and mirror). I was truly moved by this personal touch.
